Reception Admissions

A warm and confident start to your child’s Trinity journey.

Starting school is a big moment for every family. Choosing a Reception place is about more than completing an application. It is about finding a school where your child will be known, supported, and encouraged to grow from the very beginning.

At Trinity, children begin their journey in a warm, nurturing and purposeful environment where care and high expectations go hand in hand. We want children to feel happy, secure and ready to learn, and we want parents and carers to feel confident that they have chosen the right start for their child.

Reception tours: Trinity Primary carries out school tours every Thursday at 11.00am. Please arrive 5 to 10 minutes early to sign in.

Why join Trinity in Reception?

Reception at Trinity is the beginning of a longer journey. Children are welcomed into a caring school community where relationships matter, routines are strong, and confidence, curiosity and independence are encouraged from the start.

Families often want to know two things when choosing a Reception place: will my child feel happy and settled, and will my child get a strong start? At Trinity, those two things belong together. We focus on both care and strong foundations, helping children begin school with confidence.

A strong start in the early years

Children in Reception learn through a balance of structured teaching, play, exploration, language rich learning and opportunities to grow in independence.

Our early years approach supports early reading, communication, vocabulary, early writing, number understanding and positive social development. Children are encouraged to become curious learners, build friendships and develop the confidence they need for the next stage of school life.

Ofsted recognised that children in the early years make an excellent start to their education, with a carefully organised Reception curriculum, a strong focus on reading, well established routines and language development embedded into everyday activities.

A school where children are known

We know that children learn best when they feel safe, settled and understood. Staff take time to get to know each child, helping them build trust, confidence and a sense of belonging.

Trinity is one school with one journey, from Reception to Year 11. Children who join us in Reception become part of a wider school community where friendships, confidence, character and ambition grow over time.
