About Trinity

Pupils at Trinity Church of England School

One school, one journey, from Reception to Year 11

Trinity Church of England School, Lewisham is an all through school where pupils are known, valued and encouraged to grow in confidence, character, knowledge and ambition.

Across our Primary and Secondary phases, we want every pupil to feel known, valued and encouraged to grow. Some children begin their Trinity journey with us in Reception. Others join us in Year 7 from primary schools across the local area. Wherever that journey begins, our aim is the same: to help pupils grow in confidence, character, knowledge and ambition.

Trinity is a school where belonging matters, relationships are important and high expectations are held with care.

The Trinity journey: one school, two phases, from Reception to Year 11, rooted in belonging, ambition, community and life in all its fullness.

Our vision

Our vision is rooted in Jesus’ words:

“I have come that you may have life in all its fullness.”
John 10:10

For us, life in all its fullness means helping pupils grow academically, socially, spiritually and personally. It means providing a rich education where children can learn well, build friendships, discover their gifts, serve others and become ready for the next stage of life.

We want pupils to leave Trinity as confident, capable and compassionate young people who understand themselves, care for others and are prepared to make a positive contribution to the wider world.

An all through school

Trinity is one school with two phases.

Primary Phase

Our Primary Phase gives children a warm, nurturing and ambitious start to school life. Pupils are helped to build confidence, curiosity, early friendships and strong foundations for learning.

Secondary Phase

Our Secondary Phase builds on those foundations. Pupils are supported to grow in independence, deepen their knowledge, develop character and prepare for GCSEs and future pathways.

Being an all through school means we can think carefully about the whole journey. We understand how children grow over time, and we work to make each stage feel connected, purposeful and supportive.

A Church of England school for all

Trinity is proud to be a Church of England school.

Our Christian vision shapes the way we learn, care, lead and serve. It helps us see every person as valuable and full of potential. It calls us to build a school community where pupils and adults are treated with dignity, respect and love.

We warmly welcome pupils, families and staff from all faiths and none. Our ethos is inclusive, generous and rooted in the belief that every child should be able to flourish.

Our values

Our school life is shaped by three core values.

Learning community

We believe every pupil has gifts and talents to develop. We encourage curiosity, effort, high expectations and a love of learning. Pupils are supported to build knowledge, think deeply and grow in confidence.

Loving family

We want Trinity to feel like a community where people are known and cared for. Pupils, staff, parents, carers, governors, churches and local partners all contribute to the life of the school. We celebrate diversity and seek to make every member of the Trinity family feel valued.

Living good lives

We encourage pupils to use what they learn to make a positive difference. Through service, leadership, courageous advocacy, character development and community life, pupils are helped to think beyond themselves and act with kindness, responsibility and courage.

These values are not separate from daily school life. They shape how we teach, lead, support, challenge and care for one another.

A community where pupils are known

Families often want to know whether their child will be seen as an individual. At Trinity, relationships matter.

We want pupils to feel that adults know them, understand their strengths, notice when they need support and encourage them to aim high. This matters in Reception, in Year 7 and at every stage in between.

Our size, structure and values help us build a strong sense of community. Pupils are supported to belong, take responsibility, develop friendships and grow in confidence over time.

Learning, character and opportunity

At Trinity, education is about more than lessons alone.

We want pupils to develop strong knowledge and the habits that help them learn well. We also want them to grow in character, confidence, resilience and compassion.

Across the school, pupils experience learning, pastoral care, worship, personal development, leadership, clubs, trips, careers, community outreach and opportunities to serve others. These experiences help pupils discover their interests, develop their talents and understand the wider world.

Rooted in Lewisham

Trinity is proud to serve families across Lewisham and Greenwich.

Our school community is diverse, inclusive and full of life. We value the different backgrounds, cultures, languages, experiences and beliefs that pupils and families bring to Trinity.

We want our pupils to feel proud of who they are, proud of their school and ready to contribute positively to the communities they belong to.

The Trinity journey

The Trinity journey is about growth over time.

It begins with nurture, curiosity and belonging in the Primary Phase. It continues through challenge, independence and wider opportunity in the Secondary Phase. It ends with pupils leaving Year 11 ready for their next step, carrying with them the knowledge, values, confidence and character they have developed along the way.

At every stage, our aim is to help pupils live life in all its fullness.
