Welcome to the Secondary Phase at Trinity Church of England School, Lewisham.

It is a pleasure to welcome you as you consider the next stage of your child’s education. Choosing a Secondary school is an important decision, and families rightly want to know that their child will be known, supported, challenged and able to flourish.

At Trinity, our vision is rooted in Jesus’ words, “life in all its fullness” (John 10:10). This shapes our commitment to helping every pupil grow academically, socially and personally.

We want pupils to develop strong knowledge, confidence, character and ambition, so that they are well prepared for their next step.

Our Secondary Phase is part of one all through school, with a journey that begins in Reception and continues to Year 11. As pupils grow, they build on their knowledge, relationships and values, while developing greater independence and discovering new opportunities.

Ofsted recognised that pupils follow an “ambitious and enriched curriculum”, achieve very well and are “skilfully prepared for their next steps”.

Pupils joining Trinity Secondary are welcomed into a community where they can quickly feel that they belong. Family Groups, strong pastoral care, clear expectations and a broad curriculum help pupils settle, build confidence and take increasing responsibility for their learning.

Ofsted described Trinity as a school that “combines high expectations for its pupils with a deep sense of community and belonging”. This balance of ambition and care is central to the Secondary experience.

As a Church of England school, we are proud to be inclusive and welcoming to pupils of all faiths and none. We want every pupil to feel valued, discover their strengths, serve others and develop the resilience and ambition they need for the future.

We look forward to welcoming your child into the Trinity family and working with you throughout the next stage of their journey.

    THE JOURNEY AHEAD

From Year 7 to what comes next

From the first days of Year 7 to the final steps beyond Year 11, pupils are supported to grow in knowledge, confidence, independence and ambition.

At Trinity, Secondary is about more than preparing for examinations. Pupils are encouraged to discover their strengths, explore future possibilities and develop the character and skills they need for life beyond school.

As they move towards Year 11, careers education, guidance and preparation for Post 16 pathways help pupils make informed choices and approach their next step with confidence.
