Inclusion Quality Mark Award

A message from our Executive Headteacher

Mr David Lucas

I am proud to announce that we remain in the top category for our Inclusive practice at Trinity

In March 2025, Trinity welcomed the Inclusion Quality Mark reviewer across both our Primary and Secondary phases for our yearly review as a Flagship school.

We are proud to share that Trinity was highly praised for:
  • Aspirational and evidence-informed leadership, with a clear vision to remove systemic barriers and foster equity for all.
  • Staff knowledge being a tremendous strength, embracing peer coaching, research-led practice, and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Trinity pupils having a strong voice, sharing their views with confidence and pride, and feeling truly seen and celebrated.
  • An academic environment that goes beyond classroom walls, helping pupils build life skills, emotional resilience, and social confidence.
  • Tailored provision for every learner, with SEND support that includes pupil passports, sensory toolkits, and reasonable adjustments woven into the everyday.
  • A strong family ethos, echoed by pupils, staff, parents, and governors alike. Trinity is a place where everyone belongs.
  • Articulate, polite and welcoming pupils, who made the reviewer feel part of our Trinity family from the moment they arrived.
  • We were also commended for our:

  • Commitment to wellbeing, with low staff turnover, supportive policies and initiatives like Golden Tickets for both pupils and staff.
  • Cross-phase collaboration, with ideas like ‘big write sessions’ and direct instruction literacy support shared across departments.
  • Community outreach and transition support, including transition into our Early Years, Year 5 visits to our secondary school, illustrated in a record number of Year 6 pupils continuing into Year 7.
  • Use of pupil mentoring, ensuring our most vulnerable learners receive expert, impactful support.
  • This recognition is a testament to the dedication of our entire school community. Trinity continues to shine as a Flagship School, constantly striving to be the best for every pupil. We look forward to building on this success in the year ahead.

This is thanks to all the hard work of our staff and pupils across the school– yet again Trinity shines bright. We are a school constantly striving for the best for all our pupils.

                                                      2025 IQM REVIEW HIGHLIGHTS

We are proud to present the 2021  'CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE' report that clearly reflects our school's high standards in maintaining a full inclusive community for all its members.

Pupils stated that the ethos of Trinity School – loving, living and learning would be challenging to find in another school. Pupils described Trinity Church of England School as having a ‘family vibe;’ one where all are accepted and included and where teachers care about the wellbeing of their pupils.

2021 2021 IQM inclusive school report

On February 2021, Trinity was assessed for the Inclusion Quality Mark.  We are delighted to have been awarded 'CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE' showing Trinity as a fully inclusive school community.

Some of the highlights of the report are:

  • Trinity Secondary School is built on strong caring relationships at every level of the organisation.
  • The Christian ethos influences the policy and practice and supports the inclusive approach.
  • The school is a Christian school but they welcome pupils of all religions and none, this means they have a more diverse school population.
  • The school understands that inclusion is about the whole school and especially about what happens in the classroom.
  • The spiral curriculum that has been mapped out from Reception to Year 11 was planned by teachers and is supported by Knowledge Organisers that are constantly reviewed and updated.
  • All the staff I met told me they feel valued and they are confident that their contribution makes a difference.
  • The pastoral system is set up to provide a family environment.
