Year 6

English

Reading

Throughout pupils' journey in Year 6, children will explore the books above in our whole-class reading sessions. We will also use these books as inspiration for our writing sessions.

Writing

Trinity assesses Year 6 writing using the STA's KS2 writing standards.

Assessments are on-going throughout the year however are reported to the DfE at the end of the academic year and form part of the KS2 final results.

Maths

Trinity follows the White Rose scheme of work. Below, see the overview of Maths learning for the year group.

Maths lessons look at fluency, word problems and reasoning.

Each year group has a 10-minute arithmetic lesson, followed by the main lesson (from White Rose) and concludes with a challenge session.

Religious Education

Like our Wider Curriculum, our RE curriculum is built It is our intent that all children are offered opportunities for two types of knowledge acquisition: declarative knowledge (AT1- learning about religion) and procedural knowledge  (AT2- learning from religion).

Curriculum Overview

Wider Curriculum sessions include History, Geography and Design & Technology.

Knowledge and skills are taught via declarative and procedural learning tasks.

Trinity has a spiral curriculum that feeds from EYFS to KS2 and through to KS3 and KS4.
